Center for Advanced Bioinformatics Research (CABR)
The Center for Advanced Bioinformatics Research (CABR) is a separate university research structure within the South-West University "Neofit Rilski", Blagoevgrad. The main objective of CABR, based on the collaboration of various researchers - mathematicians, computer scientists, biochemists, biologists, medics and physicists, is to develop new approaches and algorithms related to the studies of bioprocesses, protein structure and drug-receptor interactions. This center employs young scientists, PhD students and students with a keen interest in the field of Bioinformatics and computer science. The existing infrastructure allows conducting research on a high international level and implementing research projects.
The Center for Advanced Bioinformatics Research(CABR) was found in 2013 as a scientific institution of the South-West University "Neofit Rilski" with an Academic? Board decision Protocol N 18/ 5.5.2013. CABR was created with funds on projects DVU 01/197/16.12.2008/DOO2-162 National Fund "Scientific Research" – Bulgaria, DOO2-135/31.07.2009 (COST ACTION 0801) National FundS? "Scientific Research" and ICoSCIS, funded on Program for transboundary collaboration „Greece-Bulgaria 2007-2013 г.” contract B2.33.02.
CABR consists of:
- Sector for drug design
- Sector for Mathematical modeling
- Sector for high-performance computing(HPC)
- Sector for statistical processing
- Sector for programming/Programming sector
